Wishing You and Your Staff a Happy Holiday Season.

On behalf of the staff and board of directors of BBB Vancouver Island I wish you, your employees and your families the Happiest of Holidays this year.

2011 has been a very busy year at the BBB of Vancouver Island. We’ve been working hard to update and revise a number of our programs to better service our accredited businesses and the customers that use our services. We’ve continued to improve your BBB Business Reviews (you can now get custom broadcast quality commercial videos produced and linked to your company’s Business Review); we’ve created a free iPhone App to allow you to check out businesses from your mobile device; we’ve implemented a formal advertising review program to help businesses ensure their advertising is ethical and meets BBB standards; we’ve advanced our investigations program to better follow up on unscrupulous businesses impacting customers in your community; and we’ve created a new online scam portal, Scam Tracker, to better keep you informed of scams and how to protect yourselves from them.

2012 promises to be an even more exciting year. 2012 marks an important milestone in BBB history – the 100th anniversary of the international organization of BBB’s and the 50th anniversary of BBB Vancouver Island! During our centennial year we’ll continue to launch new programs and services. Our programs and initiatives will be groundbreaking, not only for us, but for the marketplace. We’ll be sharing news and information with you throughout the year, and I hope you’ll take time to participate in the centennial commemoration with us. (And whatever you do, DON’T miss the 2012 Torch Awards! This year we are changing it up and it will be a festive event you will be talking about for years to come!)

Happy Holidays from all of us at BBB!

Sincerely,
Rosalind Scott, Executive Director
BBB Vancouver Island
