The Gulf Islands are located between Vancouver and Victoria, and north of Washington state's San Juan Islands. The Gulf Islands are made up of over 200 islands, of which, five major islands are serviced daily by ferries from Vancouver and Victoria. These five, Galiano, Mayne, Pender, Salt Spring and Saturna, are the most visited and most inhabited of the islands, and are well known for their natural beauty, local merchants, and wealth of outdoor activities.
