Help BBB Celebrate Ethical Businesses

Help the Better Business Bureau (BBB) celebrate businesses that go above and beyond in their commitment to ethics — nominate a business now for the 2011 Torch Awards.

“If you know of a business that is dedicated to serving the public, a business that takes that little bit of extra time to show they care — they deserve to be recognized,” says Rosalind Scott, BBB Executive Director. “Help the BBB celebrate good businesses by nominating any business for a Torch Award, whether they are an Accredited Business or not.”

The deadline for Torch Award nominations is March 4, 2011. You can download a nomination form at vi.bbb.org/torch_awards/ Drop your nomination off at the BBB Office (#220-1175 Cook Street; Victoria B.C.; V8V 4A1), send it to us by fax (250.386.2367) or email it to us (wendy@vi.bbb.org). Nominations simply require the businesses contact information; the nominees contact information; and a brief explanation of why you think the business deserves an award.

The BBB Torch Awards is the largest consumer driven awards show on Vancouver Island. Each year local businesses are nominated by their customers and honoured for being fair, reliable, trustworthy and honest in their day-to-day practices.

“There are so many amazing businesses operating on Vancouver Island,” says Scott. “BBB relies on the public to help us identify these great businesses. The deadline for nominations in 2011 is fast approaching, so be sure to get your nomination in to us as soon as possible!”

Winners of the 2011 Torch Awards will be announced at the gala event on May 6, 2011 in the Westin Ball Room at the Bear Mountain Victoria Golf Resort & Spa.
