Social Media DO’s
• Completely fill out your profile with all relevant information about you and your business. Always professionally represent yourself and your company.
• Compose your messages using a word processor and spell checker. Keep your messages concise, short, clear and truthful at all times.
• Respond promptly and regularly.
• Be interactive with others, cross promote and engage in interesting conversations.
• Have something useful to say and share valuable information. Don’t just speak or type for the sake of speaking or typing.

Social Media DON’Ts
• Send endless promotional materials or spam to everyone all the time. Don’t excessively send out links to your own website.
• Say negative things about your competitors.
• Pretend to be one of your own consumers and say great things about your company.
• Say or behave in an unprofessional manner. Don’t talk about people negatively, don’t fire someone using social media, don’t divulge too much private information.
• Get burned out from over participating in social media. Social media is just one of many marketing tools available to small businesses.
